Binance breach turns AI tooling and deployment tokens into a USD 6.34bn control-plane failure
Binance’s newly published reconstruction turns the record theft into an enterprise control-plane case study: attackers crossed recruitment, developer tooling, an internal AI system, deployment credentials and wallet signing before persistent on-chain.

Executive consequence
Binance says attackers used a tampered developer-tool installation, a fraudulent recruitment exercise, malware, compromised endpoints, an internal AI tool and a container deployment token to reach wallet-signing operations. Approximately USD 6.34 billion was affected.
Decision today
Inventory developer endpoints, internal AI tools and deployment tokens with access to signing or custody systems.
An attacker registered a cPGuard trial account, reached OPSSHIELD’s billing and licensing server, stole an update-storage key and pushed a fake update that ran as root. OPSSHIELD says about 2,950 servers executed it. The script collected host credentials and left a hidden root shell.
Do today
Identify every cPGuard host online during the malicious-update window.
Retailers across multiple European countries reported remotely altered refrigeration systems, elevated temperatures and spoiled stock. The November wave follows confirmed French compromises of Danfoss, Copeland and Dixell controllers.
Do today
Inventory every internet-connected refrigeration controller and owning contractor by site.
Mandiant responded to multiple LLMJacking incidents in which attackers used exposed endpoints or stolen cloud identities to consume and resell enterprise model capacity.
Do today
Inventory every enabled LLM service, gateway, endpoint, API key and owning workload.
CISA’s 3 November advisory covers CVE-2026-63017 and CVE-2026-63774 in Subnet Solutions PowerSYSTEM Center. Both score 9.0 under CVSS v3.1 and require an authenticated user on an adjacent network. No public exploitation is reported. Fixed releases and vendor workarounds are available.
Do today
Inventory PowerSYSTEM Center product lines, versions, owners and network paths.
