Sponsorship, advertising and referral policy

Rules separating commercial support, professional introductions and Security.io editorial judgment.

Clear labels

Commercial material uses direct labels such as Advertisement, Paid Placement, Sponsor’s Notice or Sponsored Research. Vague labels that could imply editorial endorsement are not used.

Editorial firewall

Sponsors do not select coverage, suppress coverage, review drafts or approve conclusions. Payment does not improve a company’s editorial ranking or treatment.

Scarcity and format

Security.io rejects programmatic banners, pop-ups, auto-play, deceptive native advertising and commercial treatments that overwhelm the publication design. Inventory is deliberately limited.

Executive recruitment and events

Recruiter searches, dinners and roundtables are paid commercial notices when consideration is provided. Publication does not constitute endorsement of the recruiter, host, opportunity, venue or attendee claims.

Sponsored research

Funding, methodology, editorial control and relevant conflicts are disclosed. Security.io will not guarantee a favourable conclusion.

Private briefings and professional referrals

Security.io may provide a selective private briefing or introduce an organisation to an independent specialist. Security.io may receive a referral fee if an introduction results in a commercial engagement. The arrangement is disclosed to the relevant parties. Security.io is not the specialist’s agent, does not bind the specialist, and does not assume responsibility for the specialist’s services unless a separate written agreement expressly says otherwise.

Conflicts involving coverage

Where an advertiser, sponsor, private briefing participant, referral partner or referred organisation becomes material to a story, Security.io will disclose the relationship, reassign coverage, establish additional review or decline the commercial relationship. Commercial value does not override reader trust.

Rejection rights

Security.io may reject or remove advertising, sponsorships, referrals or other commercial relationships that are misleading, unsafe, unlawful, inconsistent with reader trust or in conflict with the publication’s standards.
